Doug Hoffman, the Conservative Party’s candidate for his district’s special election, will be speaking at the NC GOP’s Hall of Fail Fame dinner tomorrow at the North Raleigh Hilton. Hoffman’s appearance is at the request of state GOP boss Tom Fetzer, who feels Hoffman is a “good fit” both to deliver remarks and announce this year’s GOP “Lifetime Achievement Award” to the administration and coaching staff of the Detroit Lions.

Hoffman, who considers Glenn Beck his mentor, brings with him the notoriety that can only come from being Sarah Palin’s pawn. In addition to Beck and Palin, Hoffman was backed hard by slimeballs as diverse as Newt Gingrich, Dick Armey, every Fox News anchor, and Tim Pawlenty. AND HE STILL LOST. In true conservative fashion, a severly butthurt Hoffman is now blaming his defeat on ACORN.

These dudes and their right-wing bullshit, it’s like a Thin Lizzy guitar solo: it never ends.

The (most) hilarious part you should take away from this is the demand for Hoffman as a political speaker because the man has trouble tying two sentences together.

Here he is really fucking pulling back the curtain on everything that’s wrong with government:

“We’re not going to put up with wasteful spending…we’re not going to spend money we don’t have…we have to do something about the taxes. We’ve got to watch taxes and government regulations and regulations that take away our rights and our liberties.”

Compare with animated plutocrat C. Montgomery Burns, running for governor:

“Some voters respond to my integrity, others are more impressed with my incorruptibility, still others find my determination to lower taxes and the bureaucrats in the state capitol can put THAT in their pipes and smoke it!”
