Man, I Hate When The President Visits

Man, I Hate When The President Visits

If you weren’t one of the lucky 600 to receive two tickets to President Obama’s town hall meeting at Broughton High Wednesday, there were still a few options: watch the event live on TV/the Internet, get on Twitter to narcissistically vent about how ensuring the President’s safety was ruining your life, OR you could take to the streets and let that man know how the citizens of Raleigh REALLY feel about you coming to town.

Sure, the average person might be stoked by the leader of the free world paying a visit to our provincial capital for the third time in 15 months, but no. Not these dudes. Re-tweeting of two conservative blog posts showed protesters foaming at the mouth at the chance to say those socialist politics weren’t welcome in Oak Patriot City.

From Conservative Yankee:

Who was the most popular man in Raleigh today? I don’t know who it was, but I could tell you who it wasn’t, as Barack Obama’s motocade was met by a smattering of cheers and an overwhelming chorus of boos:

Doesn’t sound like an overwhelming chorus so much as a bunch of kids shrieking on a roller coaster, but whatever. It’s a protest! Yank estimates the 200 or so NObamas outnumbered supporters “about 3-to-1,” which makes sense until, you know, you think about the 1000+ people inside. I don’t think those people should count though. They didn’t even have any silly signs! And just listen to how underwhelming their cheers were (starting at 3:10):

Randy’s Right had more prima facie evidence of Obama getting stomped by true Americans, with the added bonus of actually being there! So we get a whole paragraph crowing about awesome it was to show up those dang libs, and how civil and “respectable” the team was while booing the POTUS on a public sidewalk. I’m sure he would have loved to have that account taken as gospel, but unfortunately, the smattering of Obama supporters had their ears open, and were willing to speak on it:

Yikes! I was going to make a joke about how that sounds like the exact opposite of behavior deemed worthy of respect, but then I found myself really really really hoping he made it up. And then there’s this:

I thought this NCGOP activist and Planned Parenthood woman were having a cordial conversation about reproductive rights, but then I head the pro-life woman say, very civil, “I’m happy to discuss the facts with you if by facts you mean murder.

See, I knew they were civil!
