Right now I’m feeling a little like Larry David before the election. Health care. Tired of the vitriol, the distortions, the Sarah P. treatises on Facebook, the every day a new video outburst, the horse-race coverage, all of it. It’s a goddamn spectacle. On something everyone has already made up their mind about. And have moved on to other things. Like reality TV. After a few points, I hope to do the same.
1. Remember last Friday, when “opponents of Barack Obama’s health-care plan” demonstrated outside of Sen. Hagan’s EMPTY office?! Well, the News & Observer rewards this kind of behavior with a cover piece. It’s a little hard to see from the website photo:

That’s right, the shot containing a “Where’s the Birth Certificate?” sign got the green light. Front page. With a circulation of 176,000. Way to go, McClatchy.
2. Godwin’s Law, man.

Ugh.
3. How come NO ONE is breaking Sen. Richard “$1.67 million” Burr’s balls about not holding a town-hall meeting?!
4. It was bound to happen. The in-yr-face counter-protest:
Never, ever in history has there been anything more persuasive than a rich white male attacking other rich white males for excess. Kept it simple and kept it futile. Even the birthers were laughing at this dude.
Ironically, the Triangle’s two billionaires provide ridiculous on-site health care to their employees. If you’re going to work the big business angle, why not go after kinda sort of maybe “non-profit“ Blue Cross Blue Shield NC? They certainly deserve negative attention…
5. Tort reform is a fucking joke. In the “death panels” era, let’s call it what it actually is: Taking Away Your Right to Sue.
